Abstract: | This study set out to investigate the application of communication techniques in arousing entrepreneurial risk-taking behaviour for adaptivity in public owned enterprises. The study focused on public enterprises owned by the government of Rivers State, Nigeria. The main objective of the study was to investigate whether the application of communication techniques in public owned enterprises arouses entrepreneurial risk-taking behaviour for organisational adaptability. To successfully carry out this study, the quasi experimental design was employed with a population of 141 employees and a sample size of 104 respondents. The study found that application of communication techniques have a positive and significant relationship with the arousal of entrepreneurial risk taking and the adaptability of public owned enterprises in Rivers State Niger. Finally, the study recommended that public enterprises as well as other organizations should have that organizational mind-set which embraces risk-taking as a dominant culture. That organisations should acquire the best communications technologies as well as employ experts to develop winning communication techniques that would help them communicate effectively to members of their staff as well as allow employees communicate efficiently in order to arouse risk taking behaviours in the organisation. |
